The Earth's Imagination:
Exploring the Evolutionary Nature of the Human Mind

Eight Tuesday Evenings, 7- 8:30 pm
Jan. 6 through Feb. 24
Led by Connie Mahoney, PhD

This 8 week program is based on the video series: The Earth's Imagination by Brian Swimme, PhD., professor of cosmology at CIIS. The focus is on what the evolution of the universe and the evolutionary nature of human beings teach us about how our species can best participate in shaping a vibrant Earth community. At each gathering, we will view a 30 minutes video segment and then discuss the key points of Brian's teachings: centering on how major transformations in the evolution of the universe and planet Earth have brought the human to this unique and challenging time in evolutionary history and our challenge in the future evolution of life on this planet. We will introduce the Earth Charter as a document providing principles to guide us on our journey. Your presence and participation is invited; join us for this stimulating and thought-provoking series. Are you open to the challenge?

Facilitator for this series is Connie Mahoney, PhD. Connie is the founder of Earth Elders, a long-time spiritual quester and environmental activist. At 57, she received her doctorate in sociology from UCSF; at 60, she participated in a 10 day vision quest. Most recently, she studied with Joanna Macy, Ram Dass, Thomas Berry, Sr. Miriam McGillis and Brian Swimme.

Suggested donation: $80 for the series
