MY BODY, MY PRAYER

A weekend retreat, 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 23, led by Pamela Falkowski

My Body, My Prayer is an attempt to bear witness to the healing that can come through an embodied spirituality. Grounded in a theology of blessing and abundance, it is a weekend of prayer, reflection and play that celebrates the creativity, the sacredness, and the mystery of the Body, our individual bodies and the communal body. It invites us to explore how our bodies, sexuality, and creativity are integral components of our relationship with God, others, and creation and how they influence our daily discernment and life commitments.
Anyone interested in engaging in the delicate dance between our religious belief systems and our attitudes towards our body and sexuality will want to be here for the conversation. Bring your body's wisdom and intelligence, and an open, willing spirit. Comfortable clothing, a journal, and favorite art materials (some will be provided) will help the process. All are welcome. Come, add to the conversation and fun of celebrating the greatest gift we have: we all begin in a body and emerge already in relationships that transcend time, space, and matter. We are the locus of God.
Pamela Falkowski has been exploring embodied spirituality for several years as a spiritual director, retreat director, artist, musician, and massage therapist. She has come to know embodied spirituality as a process of personal transformation--a way to wholeness and healing through the body and community, through play and creativity. Come join her in the exploration.
