Workshops Classes and Seminars

One More Time
Spinning Gold

??A long weekend of journal writing, 7:30 p.m. Thursday March 6 through 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, led by Donna Hardy, M.A., MFT and Clare Morris, Ph.D., MFT.

Friends are good for you. New research shows that in stressful situations women have a need not for "fight of flight" but rather to take care of the children and to gather with other women. The UCLA study verifies that tending and befriending soothes a woman's tumultuous inner world , fills the emotional gaps in her marriage, and shapes who she is and who she is yet to be. It's in the hormones. To accommodate a long waiting list from November, we are repeating our autumn program on the transforming qualities of women's friendships. In this workshop we explore friendship as soul making. We consider how we are defined by the women friends who mirror us, reveal us to ourselves, and inform us in the knowing of who we are and who we are in the process of becoming.
As usual, we employ writing, art, story, and film to explore, in the privacy of our individual journals, and in the container that the weekend provides, the mystery of ourselves.
Clare Morris and Donna Hardy are marriage and family therapists with a long history of doing workshops at Angela Center and elsewhere. They also have a long history of being friend to each other and are writing a book about friendship as a path to self-discovery and growth.
Enrollment is limited to 24 persons.

The cost for tuition, meals and a room of one's own is $375.
20 CE credits hours are available for MFT and LCSW licensure (PCE#1467).
