Workshops Classes and Seminars

Willing Heart, Seated Mind

In this poetry writing workshop we will once again be working with our senses, our daily experiences, our childhoods, our dreams, the natural landscapes of our inner and outer worlds.  We will look at poems by contemporary poets, and study the poetic behaviors employed: imagery, metaphor, music, syntax, line break, etc.

We will have a change to freewrite in class, to loosen up our poetry minds and voices, to play with language that sings and takes us deeper into our own lives and transformations.  Beginners are welcome.

Lynn Trombetta received two teaching credentials and her B.A. degree in English from Sonoma State University.  Her work has been nominated for The Pushcart Prize by Chiron Review and has appeared in CALYX, The Sun, Poets On, and other poetry journals across the country.  About her poetry she says, "Practicing patience and steadfastness before the blank page is hard work, but it is work which offers astonishments and truths, and always guidance in the difficult task of being human."

Cost: $172.   Please make reservations.
