WORK vs. JOB:
CARE OF THE SOUL IN CORPORATE MEDICINE

Saturday, March 8, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., led by Scott Eberle, M.D.

With the rapid growth of HMOs and Managed Care, caregivers of all kinds are experiencing intense pressure to offer efficient, fast-paced care, often at the expense of their patients and/or themselves. For many, what was once a calling has now become "just a job," and far too often, not a very good one.
This one-day workshop will begin with Dr. Eberle's overview of the universal struggles faced by all professional caregivers working in our troubled health care system. We will then move into several experiential exercises, beginning with the making of a collage. Our goal? To stop the doctor from talking, so that we might all do some healing work with our own stories!
Dr. Eberle has worked in Sonoma County for over a decade, both as an AIDS specialist and a hospice medical director. He is the founder and director of the Center for Wellness in Medicine, a group committed to nurturing the individual caregiver. He has lectured, facilitated seminars, and led outdoor programs for many years.
